Blow the Whistle
Ethics consultants have a range of acceptable methods of protest when they encounter unethical and/or unprofessional behavior in health care organizations including threatening to resign or actually resigning. Protest methods are available to ethics consultants in public and private health care systems, though their responsibilities for and risks of protest can vary substantially. The authors discuss how characteristics of ethics consultation pertain to whistleblowing in the context of ethics consultation and how current guidance from the American Society of Bioethics and Humanities provides inadequate support for ethics consultants who face whistleblowing considerations. http://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s10730-021-09459-3
